A salute to the team behind the Man

Lance Armstrong gets all the credit in the world for the good work of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. But as someone who's worked for the foundation as a volunteer fundraiser for four years now, I'm here to tell you he doesn't do it alone.

Behind the scenes there are great people who help make sure the job gets done. Allison Wright is one of them. Here you can see her negotiating with a very large security specialist, very early in the morning, at the Ride for the Roses in 2005.

If it wasn't for Allison, I wouldn't be working for the cause. She's helped me with the fundraising, she's kept me inspired, and followed through when many wouldn't.

When you go to the Ride for the Roses in Austin, you can see the passion in the eyes of the staff of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. But if you look closely, you can also see the exhaustion. Everyone at the Lance Armstrong Foundation works hard, very hard.

The day cancer is defeated, Lance Armstrong will get the credit and the publicity. Allison Wright won't. But the truly beautiful thing is, she won't care.
