Vinny S. bought a Henry J. 

Hull’s top hot rodder has a new canvas to express himself. Introduced in 1950 at the Chicago Auto Show, the Henry J is a Kaiser built as an economy car. The trunk lid was an option. If the budget conscious-purchaser did not specify the trunk lid, the storage space was accessed by folding down the back seat and crawling into the trunk.

Distribution was interesting. The 1953 model dubbed the Allstate was available through Sears and Roebuck. There was a time when you could order a car, a house, and everything you needed to furnish it through the big book. How the mighty have fallen.

Vinny S. plans on putting a more powerful motor under the hood, painting the body and restoring the interior. He enjoys mechanical work more than bodywork but he is pleased that the Henry J. is a manageable size.
