Spiritual Advisor Deceives Wife

Vinnie, one of my automotive spiritual advisors, has a garage filled with hot cars. He has a 1980's corvette, a Lincoln from the fifties, and a 1965 big block Corvette. I was riding home with him on the commuter boat, pawing through a car magazine, when I made a startling discovery. Vinnie's big block 'vette is worth about the same as four years of college tuition. Vinnie, does your wife know about this? Not on your life said he with a smile.

He keeps the big block 'vette under wraps. One day, he's going to restore it, but not today. To pay for his addiction, Vinnie works on other people's cars. He's restoring a 1958 Corvette for a guy who thought he was buying a cream puff. Turns out some of the cream was sour. There's a lot in the car that isn't right, and making it right isn't cheap. Vinnie bills the guy by the hour, which is fine when he is wrenching. The research and time on ebay looking for parts is more difficult to figure out. As always, the last 5% of a job takes just as much energy as the first 50%.
