sorry you haven't heard from me
I've been busy with a variety of tasks and I haven't had a of time to put into the blog. Longtime reader, first-time caller Matt Fallon sent a scorching letter demanding new content. Matt rides a mean fixed-gear bicycle, and I'm afraid he may put the hurt on me, so this one's for you Mattie.
Business took us to Los Angeles so I brought the bike with me. American Airlines was kind enough to lose my trusty Trek, so there was a tense 24 hour wait for the trusty Trek to arrive, which it did, in one piece.
In many ways, the wait for the bike may have been payback for the fact that the lady at the check-in desk in Boston waived the baggage fee for the bike. Yee haw! It's funny in that every now and again, people in Boston will waive the fee, but never, ever, ever, will the fee be waived in Los Angeles.
Here you see the Trek bathing in the late afternoon, natural light at the Mondrian hotel. But if you're a efficiency expert or an interested party with an ax to grind, worry not. This very same hotel room was also the place where some work got done. Action shot of Dave Gardiner, on the job, attached.
The Mondrian is a cool hotel in west Hollywood, with one very large asterisk. The hotel is under construction so there are men with large drills boring holes, banging nails, and making a mess of the place.
As we are going to be shooting all night, then resting the next day, we thought it would be best if we relocated to another hotel, one which is less cool, but more quiet. We've found our way back to our homeland, that kissing cousin of New England towns, Santa Monica.
Production is cranking along and we should accomplish our objective of producing two TV spots. We're shooting with Neil Tardio. He's got a good reel, a great attitude, and an organied production company, Chelsea, behind him.
