Greatness back in the saddle

Scott Hainline, the producer known as Greatness, is back in the saddle. The man who once worked in a bike shop is returning to his roots as a bicycle commuter.

He owns a Toyota Prius. His kids are environmentally aware. Now, he's a commuter cyclist.

On a fine sunny day during lunch, we loaded up into Sweeney's borrow a Bmmer and drove out to Harris Cyclery, one of the best shops in the country. Sweeney's full-time Bmmer, which is the utmost in luxury transport, is in the shop for all manner of maintenance.

He bought all the necessary equipment, including a pannier, rack, fenders, a bell, bottle cages, bottles, a flat repair kit, a tail light, head light, lock, and cable.

I was the consultant of Greatness, there to pour gasoline on the flame of his desire. He didn't blink, and bought everything he needed all at once.
