Detail of end of deck where I ripped deck boards to fit space. If you really stare at it, you can see I ripped 'em, but if you were just a happy homeowner, you'd never notice.

Also, wide view of deck. I've been reading dwell magazine lately, and I think it's had some influence on our design. LCB likes wide open spaces, and hated the old railing. Since it's just one step down, she said we could live without it.
