The man announces the plan

Dr. Armstrong, who received his doctorate from his favorite university, Tufts, announces the plan to make cancer part of the national debate. He wants the candidates for President to take a position, to fund programs for a cure, to acknowledge the fact that 500,000 people a year die from cancer.
He considers this his new job, and it's one he wants to finish, then totally retire. He is beginning to understand how politicians work (slowly) and how to get their attention (by forming a group of 3 million voters).
In Washington DC, the NRA is heard.
He wants cancer survivors to have a voice, too.
